Add a Formula to a Location:Parameter from a DataView

Formulas can be added to Location:Parameters to create Calculated L:Ps. Calculated L:Ps will show the result of the formula after running calculations.

1. Select the View ribbon within the primary Operator10 or Synexus application.


2. Click on the DataViews button in the DataView group.


3. The DataView application for Operator10 will open in a separate window from the main application.


4. Press the Open button and choose the DataView that requires customization.


5. Find the Location:Parameter (L:P) in the DataView that requires the addition of a Formula.


6. Right-click on the column header of the specific Location:Parameter (L:P) that you want to customize.


7. Identify and take note of the Facility, Location, and Parameter details of the L:P at the top of the column's window.


8. Return to the main Operator10 or Synexus application screen.


9. Click the Setup ribbon.


10.Select LP Setup in the Location:Parameter section of the Setup ribbon, then choose Location:Parameter from the drop-down list.


11. Find and choose the specific L:P in the list that requires a formula to be linked to it.


12. Click the ellipsis button located at the right end of the Attached Formula field in the bottom details area.


13. Choose or create the necessary Formula from the list to link to the selected L:P.


14. Press the OK button to confirm and save your changes.


15. After linking the formula, the Location:Parameter (L:P) should appear similar to the example provided below.


16. Go back to the DataView where you want to add a formula. Close the DataView and then reopen it to update the columns.
17. The DataView column should resemble the example below. Look for the calculator icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the column's header, indicating that the L:P has been transformed into a Calculated L:P.


18. To access the formula in the DataView for editing, right-click on the column header, select Formula, and then click on Formula again.

19. Once the Formula window is opened, you can edit the formula directly within this window.

Remember to click the Save button before closing the Formula window if any edits to the formula are made.
